Thank you for another great season – we’ll see you next summer!

Our summer market 2024 ran for 15 weeks at the Somba K’e Civic Plaza in downtown Yellowknife. Some highlights:

  • The YKFM was successful in obtaining grants totaling $88,059. The grants helped to finance the operations of the 2024 Yellowknife Farmers Market including the Summer Market, Music at the Market, the Harvesters Table, Pay It Forward program and the Compost & Waste Management program.

  • 9,375 patrons attended the market throughout the season, as calculated at point-in-time counts at 5:30pm.

  • Vendor sales totaled $218,204.23 – the last time sales were this high was before the Covid-19 pandemic.

  • The Music at The Market program was held in the amphitheatre with a sitting audience. The free live music ran 14 of the 15 market weeks.

  • The Pay It Forward program allowed 462 individuals to enjoy a meal at the market.

  • The Community Table, Harvesters Table and Compost & Waste Management programs returned this year for the entirety of the season.

  • The Harvesters Table brought in over 291 lbs of produce for total sales of about $5378, of which the YKFM retained about $815 as revenues.

The Yellowknife Farmers Market acknowledges and appreciates the land that sustains us. We hold our weekly market in Chief Drygeese territory, the traditional land of the Yellowknives Dene First Nation. We respect the histories, languages, and cultures of the Yellowknives and all other Indigenous Peoples including the North Slave Métis, and all First Nations, Métis, and Inuit whose presence continues to enrich our vibrant community.
